RESUME
My adventure in designing actually started when I was an unsuccessful student in primary school years. My father and teachers were constantly arguing and do planning for me to make me study in those years. According to my lecture notes, they wrote that I could not be a good student. As a result, they made me enrolled in a vocational high school. The name of the high school’s deparment was production. Graphic design did not exist then. I graduated from a vocational school. On the contrary to expectations, I became a successful student and finished as in the third place at high school. The courses that I studied attracted me more and more every day. I wanted to learn a lot more as we continued the courses. I studied design and print publishing with a scholarship of 100% at Istanbul Aydın University.
Design and art were far from me. We were constantly turning the same images and doing something else. I wanted to produce something new. I had my drawing and music skills since I was born. I had a lot of ideas and projects in my head, but I couldn't put them together and present them in a composition. That's why I started Okan University - Graphic Design Department. I was literally confused. Nobody talked about things like pressure or product. We had a pattern lesson for 2 days in a week. One day I was late for class, I quickly opened the door and entered the class. school cleaning supervisor woman was naked, everyone took the pen from the paper and they were drawing her picture At first it seemed worthless to me but then when I got into business, I realized what kind of basis it would set for me.
I like every design I did before, I have expected my customer to like them. I go into so much detail in designing. For instance, once I made a logo in four months to make it more perfect. The conclusion was panic attacks that were caused by excessive perfectionism They say it's genetic, but I believe it's my occupational disorder. After this experience, suddenly everything went bad I couldn't produce anything anymore. There was no spark. It was like there was something that prevented my brain from working. Suddenly I made a decision and bought myself a bicycle.
I planned that I was going to the Bozca Island by bike. I planned all the way during my stay in camping. I stayed on the Bozca Island in three days. The population of Bozcaada was about 4000 but it was 300 in winter. I had good conversations with the locals. And they even offered me a job. I left early one morning. I couldn't go back to the island for a long time. I was a master traveler now. Without any plans. I was pedaling like crazy. I pedalled in many cities such as Asos, Kucukkuyu, Akcay, Ayvalik, Dikili, Bademli Village, Candarli, Izmir, Cesme, Kusadasi, Didim, Akbuk, Bodrum, Datca, Marmaris, Fethiye, Kas. I rode down the Aegean region. I had lots of memories and friends.
My body was tired, but this time I couldn't stop my mind. All the questions in my head were answered. I was just looking at the stars and putting them together in mind, making strange shapes and portraits. It's like I deciphered life. I returned to Istanbul on the first flight to get back to my family and loved ones. I locked my bike in a wooden shack that I built and closed it so that I could never ride again. A week had passed, I didn't even want to see my bike. I was bored, it was calling me like the ring of the master of the rings film.
I jumped on to my bike and started to pedal like crazy again. At this time my friend, Bilal was with me all the way from Sile, Kefken, Karasu, Akcakoca, Eregli, Zonguldak, Amasra, Cide, Inebolu, Ayancik, Sinop, Bafra, Samsun, Carsamba, Unye, Ordu, Trabzon, Surmene, Rize to Batumi. It took 22 days. I bought a lot of souvenirs and gained lots of friends + 1 Brother, including a bear that chased me
I was in another dimension now. I couldn’t take all designing any longer. I could feed myself in the city. Days went one by one and in Turkey I completed the entire tour around the country. I even went to the eastern end of my country. I toured my entire country with my own body. I had always a full of confidence, but I had to prove myself. I did this for myself. After my return, I got back to my work and life.
Now, I occasionally go to small runs and I even participated in marathon and I have been running races as well. Now, I'm happy because I gained the respect for myself and I believe in myself.
